Yep, short putts may seem dead simple but they're tougher than your Grandmother to crack. And that's sayin' something. The ability to control short putting speed and alignment can be an ally or a detriment to your short game if you let it.
So dig in and start doing tap in putts for 10 minutes every 2nd day. Doing tap ins gives you the foundation you need to know what putting speed and force you need, not just to get the putt in, but to get it there as well. Just think only 40 minutes a week doing short putts and you'll be good as gold.
In some respects doing short putts is like doing Basketball Free Throwing Practice. It's simple but hard. Most NBA pros don't free throw as well as they should. Rick Barry, the former Golden State Warrior
was an incredible free thrower who practiced constantly. His free throw percentage was in the 80% accuracy range. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Shaq was a horrible Free Thrower. He practiced a lot I would assume. It's funny how something so simple can be so tough. So get started and do some tap in putts for 10 minutes a day 4 times a week. Believe me it's worth it, whether you're a pro, top amateur or just a shitty golfer.
