Short Putting--Why You're Having A Tough Time Hitting The Hole Because It's So Small, And How Using A Tee Will Make It Easier To Putt To A Small Hole

In my last post here on Short Putting Cures, I put up a video from UK Golf teacher Piers Ward. He had a great tip that went into why golfers have a hard hitting the hole because it's so small. He used a Tee to putt to so you get used to hitting a small object. I asked Mark Harman who's a Pro Golfer and member of The US Golf Teachers Federation what he thought.

Mark says...

I think its a good drill. Mark goes on to say, "I've also seen a couple courses that have small holes about half the size (2 1/8") instead of of (4 1/4") for regular holes. "Anything you can do to get a student to become more confident is worthwhile."

I would say you should do the tee putting tip which is stupid simple, but would be very effective to learn the basics on how to putt to a very small object. Thanks to Mark Harman for chiming in on this one. I should interview Piers Ward at some point.

But go to my last post of the video with Piers doing the Tee/Putting Tip to learn how to putt to very small objects. You'll definitely putt more instinctively, and the yips won't be near as prevalent in your putting. I think this is a deadly tip that will pay-off big time to shave strokes on the green.

Tell me what cha' think. Much success on the green guys.
