Yeah,Yeah, you're probably saying it's all Bullshit.Think what you want, all I know is Putting is simple yet hard. That's why even Tiger isn't a perfect golfer when most people expect him to be. All I know is you can help yourself by just practicing regularly on the green. Not once every week or two weeks but every second day for at least 10 minutes. What? You don't have 10 minutes?
This is an important repost with basic tips any dummy including me can get. So take some notes and get back out to the Putting Green and do what this article says and you'll do just fine. You won't have to practice putt longer, just smarter and your putting will get better if you follow these simple tips. I'm not kidding it works.
If you care about your Putting enough you'll see that even 10 minutes can be more productive than 30 minutes a day. Because most quit practicing and if you continue Practice Putting 10 minutes a day every second day, chances are it will help your game better than most top amateurs or crappy pros. Okay, on to the other Putting tip of this article.
Putting and progressing your technique is important to your overall score. One thing most golfers don't do and that's just buy a round of golf and just practice putting instead of playing a round, when you know your driving's been better, but your short game has always sucked. What's the matter with just practicing your putts other than you'll get looks from everyone. You have to think differently in order to improve your game. First of all when approaching a putt on the green don't do it from one angle or the same number of yards away from the cup. You will never know how your game is by doing that.
As well, don't think that practicing at work or at home on the same putting green will sky rocket your game either. It will but only to a point. It's best to practice on the real thing and that means learning to putt on different lies and trying different putting techniques for those lies, along with keeping notes of how you've been putting on each hole. Kind of a Putting Scouting report. Anything you can do to help your game is essential.
Improve your putting stroke too, and that means learning at what speed your putting should be. I truly believe your putting should be practiced a lot more than your tee off stroke. As well, and I keep saying this, mechanics are important but not everything.Your putting stroke should be practiced like your tee off shots but learn how to read each phase of your stroke and how soft or hard you should be hitting the ball.
And at times use a Putting Coach. Search out the local golf pros and if you're short on cash, offer to interview them in exchange for a few Putting lessons. But do what they tell you. Don't just brush it off then go back to your same putting routine that didn't work. They're pros for a reason, use them.
Experiment with the above techniques and your short game will be off and running!
But remember the first tip, every second day practice putt for 10 minutes like clockwork. It will pay off immeasurably. More than all your buddies so called ways of putting practice. Get busy!
