The Secret To Short Putting---

By Mark Grove

Okay fellow golfers if you think there is some secret to being a great short
putter, give your head a shake and get back to basics, or quit the game.

Start by just focusing on hitting the ball on an aligned path without worrying about perfect mechanics. Too many golfers think you should focus on mechanics and speed of your ball. Just work on hitting the ball aligned. Think of a pro baseball pitcher. Control and placement is more important than speed and power at first. If you get over the hump by getting a handle on hitting it to the cup, then start concentrating on control speed of your stroke and how hard you hit the ball.

Don't make it complicated guys. Just focus on hitting the target. Start with very short putts of a couple feet at the most and move back as your ability to hit the target gets better. Simple guys, very simple.
